The Lord continues to work with us in Washington. It was a really blessed Christmas season that we had. Surprisingly, December ended up being one of our busier months so far! At the beginning of the month we received calls from pastors for meetings in December. I thought December would be the slowest month because of Christmas parties and programs. But God was so good to us and gave us more meetings in December.
Our first meeting was in Ellensburg. The Lord provided safe travels for us! Since we have to travel through the mountain pass, we watched the weather extra carefully. Almost the entire week leading up to that meeting, the pass was snowed over. The day of our meeting, the snow stopped and the roads were clear! About an hour or two after we made it back through the pass coming home, the snow resumed. It was a perfect open window of time for us to travel safely, and it could only have been from God!
We then met with a local Baptist church in Edmonds only a few blocks away from my family’s house. He had me preach for their evening Christmas party. An interesting note from the pastor, since we moved into this house, he has probably personally knocked on our door three or four times. It must’ve been an interesting perspective for him to see that someone he personally knocked on their door was now going as an Independent Baptist Missionary. It goes to show that faithfulness in door-knocking may have fruit that you couldn’t have imagined.
Then a Christmas Miracle happened! Followed by a Christmas tragedy. We didn’t see a white Christmas, but it was VERY white the day after! It snowed at least 5 inches overnight! The weather had mentioned snow threats all weekend, but we didn’t see any snow, until it suddenly dumped over night! But with that came a tragedy. We had to cancel one of our meetings. Sadly we weren’t able to reschedule for the time we have here. It was very disappointing to us, but we look forward to connecting with them whenever we return in the future.
We enjoyed Christmas and New Years Day with family, and still have one month left here in Washington. We look forward to what wonderful things God will do with us in this remaining month. With God, all things are possible.
