The Yelles are back! We picked them up from the airport on September 4th, and we are all happy that they have returned. 13 months away from their home is not a small amount of time. It’s been a blessing to have them back, and our work continues.
In September, our state of Rio Grande do Sul has a unique holiday called Dia de Gaucho (Gaucho Day). More specifically, it is the start of the Farroupilhan Revolution (aka. The Ragamuffin War…you can look it up). We had an event at our church with games, food, and preaching. People came dressed as Brazilian Gauchos. It was a fun event, and we had good fellowship with our church family.
Our discipleship is still going well. Please keep praying for our four discipleship students. It isn’t easy to follow Jesus sometimes, and each of them have been tempted to quit. But God has given them strength to continue, and every time they come through stronger and more focused.
In terms of property management, we are finally making progress on our new stables. Making new stables and tearing down the old, leaky, broken-down stables is the first step in developing our property into a functioning camp ministry. After we tear down the dilapidated stables, we will have room for dorms, a chapel, and maybe even a cafeteria (depending on what the Lord provides). We are excited that we are beginning these projects and look forward to that part of our ministry.
Keep praying for us. As spring is springing, allergies are blooming again. Our property is looking beautiful, but that also means more property maintenance. Pray that God keeps us healthy, keeps us safe from snakes, and keeps us strong as we continue our work for Him.
